Suspect Arrested in Connection to Cocoa Shooting That Injured 1-year-old girl

Brevard County, FL — Law enforcement officers have arrested Lynnard Semaj Woods in connection with a recent shooting incident that left a two-year-old child injured.

Woods was identified as one of the individuals involved in a parking lot shootout that occurred several weeks ago in Cocoa, Florida. According to investigators, Woods and several associates were engaged in gunfire when a two-year-old child was struck and injured during the crossfire.

After being named as the Fugitive of the Week, Woods was tracked down to a residence in Canaveral Groves. Early Tuesday morning, members of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office GAMEOVER Task Force, working in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service, executed an operation at the residence.

Sheriff Ivey stated that Woods surrendered peacefully after commands were issued for him to exit the house. He was taken into custody without incident.

Woods is now being held without bond at the Brevard County Jail on charges related to the shooting. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
