Ocala Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on South Tropical Trail

BREVARD COUNTY, FL – April 4, 2025 — A 26-year-old man from Ocala was killed Friday evening in a motorcycle crash along South Tropical Trail in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal incident occurred around 5:28 p.m. near the intersection of South Tropical Trail and Cone Road. Troopers say the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on a 2022 Ducati Superbike when an unidentified white Smart car began making a left turn from Cone Road onto South Tropical Trail, directly into the rider’s path.

The biker swerved to avoid the vehicle, lost control, and veered off the roadway. His motorcycle struck a concrete wall, ejecting him from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Authorities confirmed he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The Smart car involved in the incident reportedly fled the scene, and the vehicle’s identity remains unknown. Investigators are seeking any information from the public that may help identify the vehicle or driver. Anyone with knowledge of the incident is urged to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Crimeline.

Trooper Schad is leading the crash investigation, while Corporal Mendez has been assigned as the homicide investigator. The victim’s next of kin had not yet been notified as of the release of the report.
