2 ejections and one fatality in single vehicle crash

UPDATED CRASH REPORT: A 2007 Nissan 350Z (V1) was traveling northbound on US Highway 1 in the outside lane, approaching Montgomery Road. The driver of V1 was exceeding the posted speed limit, veered off the roadway to the right, and collided with a ditch.

Both the driver and passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center as a trauma alert but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Mims, FL — A tragic single-vehicle crash in Brevard County on Tuesday afternoon claimed one life and left another person seriously injured.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on U.S. Highway 1 at Montgomery Road in Mims shortly before 1:20 p.m. Authorities report that two individuals were ejected from the vehicle during the crash. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and investigators are still working to determine its cause. The area remains under a roadblock as troopers continue their work at the scene.
