Palm Bay Police are actively searching for a suspect following a machete attack that left three people injured in a homeless encampment behind Habitat for Humanity, located at 4515 Babcock Street NE. The incident, reported on the evening of November 7 at approximately 8:50 p.m., drew a rapid response from Palm Bay Police Department after a caller informed dispatch about an armed individual attacking people with a machete.

Upon arrival, officers found three victims who had sustained non-life-threatening cuts to the head, leg, and hand. Medical personnel quickly treated the victims at the scene before transporting them to nearby hospitals. All three are expected to make full recoveries.

Police clarified that this incident appears to be isolated within a specific group of individuals who knew each other in the homeless encampment, noting that there is no perceived ongoing threat to the wider Palm Bay community.

Major Case Detectives, alongside Crime Scene Technicians, are working to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses to ascertain the motivation behind the attack. The police have urged anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and contact the Palm Bay Police Department at (321) 952-3456, option 0.
