71 year-old-man killed on his E-bike in Crash on A1A in Brevard County

A 71-year-old man from Satellite Beach was killed Thursday evening after being struck by a Jeep Wrangler on State Road A1A near Berkerley Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the man was riding an electric bicycle eastbound from the sidewalk and crossed into the travel lanes of A1A — directly into the path of the southbound Jeep. The driver, a 61-year-old man from Indian Harbour Beach, was not injured and remained at the scene.

The bicyclist was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred around 6:03 p.m. and remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
