Indian River County, FL – Investigators in Indian River County are actively working to identify a suspect involved in two attempted abductions of women within a five-day span in the Pointe West neighborhood.
Sheriff Eric Flowers reported that deputies have been canvassing the neighborhood, going door-to-door in hopes of collecting home surveillance footage that might show the suspect. The most recent incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, when a masked man approached a woman from behind and attempted to pull her away. The woman managed to scream and run to safety.
Although the sheriff’s office does not have a detailed description of the suspect, the attempted abduction was captured on a doorbell camera. Sheriff Flowers mentioned that the suspect’s face is not visible due to the mask but hopes someone might recognize his walk or attire. Both incidents occurred at night in the same area.
The first incident took place around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2. A woman reported being approached with a knife but managed to escape and call 911. The initial investigation did not yield witnesses or video evidence, partly because the victim did not speak English, making the report initially vague.
