Woman, 73, killed driving wrong way on 192

A 73 year old woman from Micro was traveling east in the westbound lane in her 2020 Nissan Rogue on Highway 192, about 5 miles west of Camp Holly.

The front right of her vehicle struck the front right of a 24 year old Sebastian man driving a Mazda 3 at about 8:10pm.

The impact caused the woman’s vehicle to spin clockwise into the north grass shoulder. She was pronounced dead the scene.

The man was transported to Holmes Regional Medical Center in serious condition.

The crash remains under investigation.

Brevard's early vote is growing every day. NPA turnout is growing too, but it keeps falling further behind.Three days into early voting, 64,059 Brevard voters have cast a ballot by mail or in person. That is 14.3% of the county's 447,257 registered voters, up from 11.6% on Tuesday evening and about 8% on Monday afternoon.Here is how each group has moved:Democrats: 16.4% Tuesday, 19.9% todayRepublicans: 10.9% Tuesday, 13.8% todayNPA: 8.5% Tuesday, 10.4% todayRepublicans had the biggest day. The Florida Bar has fired Kade McLendon, the employee whose Instagram account was used to send racist, homophobic and violent direct messages to Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Damon Wilson II.In a statement posted this afternoon, the Bar said it has concluded its internal investigation and called the messages "reprehensible and inconsistent with the mission, values, and policies of The Florida Bar."McLendon denies sending the messages. The Bar said he did not provide enough evidence to show his Instagram account had been compromised, and his employment was terminated effective today.Wilson received about a dozen messages after Miami's 43-35 double-overtime win over Florida State on Saturday. He shared screenshots on his Instagram Stories. According to published reports, the messages included the N-word, a homophobic slur, references to slavery, and threats of rape and violence against Wilson and his family.McLendon had worked as a computer technician for The Florida Bar since June 2024, according to screenshots of his LinkedIn profile, which described him as a Florida State graduate.
