At approximately 7:40 PM on November 11, first responders, including police and fire rescue personnel, were dispatched to the area of Wickham Road and Rodes Place in response to reports of a man found injured in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Grala had apparently fallen into the roadway and may have been struck by a passing vehicle. Details surrounding the incident remain unclear, and investigators are working to determine how and why Grala ended up in the path of traffic.
The West Melbourne Police Department is urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has any information to come forward. They hope to gather additional evidence to clarify the circumstances that led to the veteran’s tragic death.
Grala served his country honorably in the United States Army for 22 years, with his military career including tours in both Korea and Vietnam. The timing of his passing, on a day set aside to honor veterans, has added a somber resonance to his death.
Those with information are encouraged to contact THI Investigator Jason Wheeler at 321-723-9673. The police emphasize that any detail, no matter how small it may seem, could prove invaluable in piecing together the events that led to this tragic outcome.
