The district went to court to strike one part of the ruling: the arbitrator's finding that letters of reprimand for Brevard teachers require "just cause." Circuit Judge Curt Jacobus denied that request Tuesday and confirmed the award in full.![]()

That finding affects every teacher in the district, not just Calhoun.![]()

The district says it disagrees with the decision and that it "prevailed on the central issues." The teachers' union says the case "never should have been filed" and accuses the district of spending taxpayer dollars to fight a valid ruling.![]()
