This action is part of a growing movement that includes GLSEN Central Florida, Youth Action Fund, Moms for Libros, National Parents Union, Defense of Democracy, Our Florida, SEE Alliance, and other organizations standing together to protect inclusive education.
Coalition members say this is about more than one teacher. It is about student safety, educator rights, and resisting political interference in Florida classrooms. They believe the Board’s decision reflects a broader pattern of retaliation against educators who prioritize compassion, honesty, and support for all students.
