Off-duty Palm Bay officer brings 13-year-old back to life

Several months ago, we told you about the heroic actions of Officer Van Den Ende who was off-duty enjoying time with family and friends at Kelly Park near Wekiwa Springs in the Orlando area. During his time there, he observed an unresponsive individual in the water and brought 13-year-old Kaden back to life. Paramedics and Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies credited the quick actions of Officer Van Den Ende for saving Kaden’s life.

Officer Van Den Ende was recognized by Orange County Sheriff John Mina and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, Florida by being awarded the Medal of Merit for those quick and lifesaving measures.
