71-Year-Old Titusville Man Killed in US-1 Crash Involving Electric Bicycle

TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are on scene of a deadly crash that claimed the life of a 71-year-old Titusville man Saturday evening.

The crash happened around 8:17 p.m. on U.S. 1, just north of Kings Highway in Brevard County. Investigators say the collision involved a 2016 Honda Accord and an electric bicycle.

According to FHP, the driver of the Honda Accord, a 36-year-old man from Titusville, was not injured and remained at the scene. The bicyclist, identified only as a 71-year-old man also from Titusville, was pronounced dead on scene.

At this time, troopers have not released details on the sequence of events that led up to the collision, noting the case remains under active investigation.

All southbound lanes of U.S. 1 were blocked for several hours Saturday night while troopers worked the scene. Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.
