Senior Airman Anna King secured first place for the second consecutive year, highlighting the squadron’s continued excellence and consistency in one of the region’s most competitive K-9 events.

The annual Space Coast Police K-9 Competition first launched in 2018, created through the vision of a Cocoa Police K-9 officer who had participated in a similar event and saw an opportunity to educate the public on the critical role police dogs play. The event quickly became a local favorite and remains the only police K-9 competition on the Space Coast. It also serves as a fundraiser supporting K-9 programs across law enforcement agencies that need additional assistance.

The event is made possible by donations to the Space Coast Police K-9 Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping police K-9 programs and officers throughout Brevard County and neighboring areas.

According to Space Launch Delta 45, this year’s sweep reflects thousands of hours of preparation, rigorous training, and the unmatched bond between each handler and their dog. Competitors faced demanding, real-world tactical challenges designed to test precision, control, agility, and endurance under pressure.

Local leaders praised the effort, noting that the team represented the United States Space Force and Patrick Space Force Base with professionalism and determination.

Residents across Brevard County are encouraged to join in congratulating the handlers and their K-9 partners for their dedication, discipline, and continued success in bringing top honors to the Space Coast.
