The Military Working Dog Team from the 45th Security Forces Squadron dominated this year’s Space Coast Police K-9 Competition, taking home first, second, and third place in a clean sweep that showcased elite training and remarkable teamwork between handlers and their dogs.

Senior Airman Anna King secured first place for the second consecutive year, highlighting the squadron’s continued excellence and consistency in one of the region’s most competitive K-9 events.

The annual Space Coast Police K-9 Competition first launched in 2018, created through the vision of a Cocoa Police K-9 officer who had participated in a similar event and saw an opportunity to educate the public on the critical role police dogs play. The event quickly became a local favorite and remains the only police K-9 competition on the Space Coast. It also serves as a fundraiser supporting K-9 programs across law enforcement agencies that need additional assistance.
