19-Year-Old woman killed after crash on I-95 in Brevard County

A fatal accident on I-95 early Saturday morning resulted in the death of a 19-year-old woman in Brevard County. The incident occurred shortly after midnight near mile marker 188 in the southbound lanes of the interstate.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2010 Lexus was speeding when it crashed into the back of a semi-truck. Following the initial collision, the driver of the Lexus, identified as a 19-year-old female, exited the vehicle. While outside of the car, the Lexus was struck again by a Ford F-250, which collided with its rear.

Investigators reported that the young woman was subsequently hit by another vehicle. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 16-year-old passenger who was inside the Lexus was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No other drivers involved in the crash reported injuries.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
