Memorial Bench Dedication Ceremony to be held for Rikki and Megan Grace

On October 18, 2022, Megan and Rikki Grace were walking there dogs on the sidewalk near Front Street Park in Melbourne. According to police, 29-year-old Robert Mitchell Lueck of Satellite Beach, in a Ford Pickup truck was traveling northbound on Front Street when he lost control and left the roadway, crossing onto the sidewalk, and hitting both women. Both Megan and Rikki died from the injuries they suffered from the crash.

Tomorrow, May 10, 2023, friends and family will be a memorial bench dedication ceremony at Front Street Park where the two women tragically lost their lives.

Come celebrate the lives of Rikki & Megan Grace with a bench dedication at Front Street Park.

We invite you to bring flowers, painted rocks and your memories of these beautiful ladies. We hope this bench is a place you can come to remember Rikki & Megan and feel their amazing spirit that will live on forever.

The unveiling of the bench will begin at 6pm with a prayer at 6:30pm.

Friends and family posted on social media an out-pouring of love and support for these two young women, that had such bright futures ahead, and had clearly already made a tremendous positive impact on their community.

25 year-old Rikki was a 3rd-grade teacher at Imagine Schools of West Melbourne.

It was with great sadness that we were informed of the tragic death of one of our staff members, Miss Rikki Grace. Miss Grace worked at Imagine West Melbourne as a third grade teacher. She was a valued member of our Imagine West Melbourne community for three years and made a lasting impression in the lives of our students. 26-year-old Megan was an Occupational Therapist. Although they both shared the same last name, they were not related, but were the best of friends.

According to the most recent information from Melbourne Police, there have not yet been any charges in the case. Witnesses reported that Lueck appeared to be under the influence, and that when turning onto Front Street from Melbourne Ave, he accelerated quickly causing the truck to fish-tail causing him to lose control and jump the sidewalk.

According to public records, Lueck has a lengthy record of auto negligence, careless driving charges, and DUI. He had just settled his most recent auto negligence case where he was at fault for an accident, just 4 days prior to this deadly accident.
