In a Facebook post today, Councilman and Mayoral Candidate What Hoover made the following announcement.

Mask Requirement Update: With the Mayor out of town, today I had the honor to sign orders requiring face coverings in town facilities and businesses within the Town of Melbourne Beach. This will go into effect Friday, July 17th, at 12:01am and end August 20th at midnight.

I’ve included brief summaries of each here, please refer to the Town website for full details or call town hall if you have questions. With the exception of County and City of Melbourne lands, the entire barrier island, from Melbourne Beach to Cocoa Beach, now have protective orders in place. Much thanks to the leadership of our neighboring communities for joining us in action, sorry it took so long.
