Disturbing details revealed in the arrest affidavit of Anthony Gonzales, a now former Titusville High School girls Soccer coach and his sexual relationship with a girl on the team. He has been arrested on 7 counts of sexual battery of a child. Gonzales is married, and has multiple young children. He’s currently being held at the Brevard County Jail on $245,000 bond.

On 08/09/2023, I began investigating a suspicious incident alleging an inappropriate relationship between Anthony Gonzales, the defendant and a Titusville High School student. During my investigation, I obtained video evidence of the defendant in the backseat of his vehicle at Chain of Lakes Park with the child victim.The (redacted) questioned the defendant and child victim as to why they were in the backseat of his car. The defendant responded by saying they were “talking.”
On 08/10/2023, I obtained the child victim’s cellphone. searched the cell phone with consent and located numerous messages where the defendant and victim professed their love for each other. I also observed text messages from the two stating how much they “wanted” each other.
On 08/10/2023, the child victim ran away from home. We received information that she had called the defendant after running away from home. We located the defendant at Chain of Lakes Park and followed him as he left the park. An exigent ping was obtained on the phone number the victim was utilizing, which revealed her location to be in Merritt Island.
Several Titusville Police Officers in unmarked cars followed the defendant to the apartment where the victim was located. Upon his arrival, the child victim attempted to enter the defendant’s vehicle but was apprehended by law enforcement.
The defendant was arrested at the Titusville Police Department, where he confessed to being in a relationship with the child victim. The defendant stated he had known the child victim for approximately one year and became sexually active with the child about one month ago. The defendant confessed to having penetrating sexual intercourse with the child victim on seven separate occasions. All incidents occurred at Chain of Lakes Park near the soccer and softball fields. The defendant told me he and the child victim planned to continue their relationship once she turned 18.
