DESCRIPTION:It’s 2024 and we are calling all the tribes to gather yet again in Cocoa Beach on Surfing Santa Day to surf together. We want hundreds of Surfing Santas to show up and surf and thousands of spectators to come and watch. Let’s all share the love\, joy\, and hope on the beach\, together again\, 7:30am\, December 24th\, at the end of Minutemen Cswy\, (located in front of Coconuts on the Beach.) \nWhat started as a fun family outing in 2009 has grown to become an annual event that raises tens of thousands of dollars for local charities and draws surfing and Christmas enthusiasts from all over the planet. \nOver the past decade\, Surfing Santas has grown into one of the most unique and fun-filled charity events the world has ever seen. This congregation of costumed kahunas has grown to record-breaking numbers with over 800 Surfing Santas and nearly 10\,000 spectators. Sponsorship from the city of Cocoa Beach and the participation of local businesses have come to make this a true community event. Moreover\, the event benefits the Florida Surf Museum which is “Preserving Floridas Surfing History” and Grind for Life\, a local charity benefiting people suffering from cancer. \nThe Surfing Santas are sure to set more records in the holiday sun this year. There will undoubtedly be sights unseen before on beaches anywhere else in the world. \nThe first professional surfer\, Phil Edwards\, once said\, “The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun.” On December 24th at 8:00am\, the world’s “best surfers” of all skill levels and all ages will be in Cocoa Beach fully clad in their finest holiday gear and having the most fun the Christmas surf and sun can provide. DESCRIPTION:A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the eighth mission of the X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV-8)\, a cargo spaceplane built by Boeing on behalf of the U.S. Space Force in cooperation with the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office. The mission\, also referred to as USSF-36\, will demonstrate space-based communications using laser links between the spaceplane and “proliferated commercial satellite networks in Low Earth Orbit.” Officials haven’t said if this will involve SpaceX’s Starlink constellation or the Starshield satellites developed for government use. It will also demonstrate what USSF calls “the highest performing quantum inertial sensor ever tested in space” in order to show navigation capabilities without the use of the GPS satellite constellation. The day-to-day operations of the X-37B are managed by the Fifth Space Operations Squadron within USSF Delta 9.

DESCRIPTION:The City of Palm Bay invites you to join us in honoring our nation’s heroes at our Annual Veterans Day Parade on Saturday\, November 8\, beginning at 10:00 AM.\n\n\nThis heartfelt community event celebrates the courage and sacrifice of our veterans and their families. The parade will begin at the Tony Rosa Community Center and travel east along Port Malabar Boulevard\, concluding at Veterans Memorial Park. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the parade from any point along the route\, with prime viewing areas available in front of Veterans Memorial Park.\n\n\nArrival & Road Closures:\nTo ensure a smooth experience\, please arrive before 9:00 AM to set up at your viewing location. Port Malabar Boulevard will be fully closed in both directions from Clearmont Street to Bianca Drive NE starting at 9:00 AM. The parade is expected to conclude by 11:00 AM\, after which roads will reopen once pedestrian traffic is clear and clean-up is complete.

DESCRIPTION:A Blue Origin New Glenn rocket will launch a pair of identical spacecraft on NASA’s Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorers (EscaPADE) mission. The two satellites\, named Blue and Gold\, will make a roughly 11-month journey to Mars where they will then perform about an 11-month science mission while orbiting the Red Planet. Blue and Gold were manufactured by Rocket Lab over about 3.5 years and carry science experiments from the University of California\, Berkeley.
