Cocoa Beach Police Release Statement on Student Overdose Yesterday

Medical Event Involving Student at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School

On May 7, 2025, at approximately 11:11 a.m., the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School was notified by staff that a student was experiencing a medical emergency. The SRO, school personnel, and Cocoa Beach Fire Rescue responded.

Narcan was administered, and the student became responsive. The student was transported to a local hospital.

Cocoa Beach Police are actively investigating this incident and anyone with additional information regarding this case is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Payne of the Criminal Investigations Division at 321-868-3344.
