Brevard Public Schools Moves to $15/Hour Minimum Wage

Brevard Public Schools hourly employees currently making less than $15 an hour will soon get a pay raise, Superintendent Dr. Mark Mullins announced during this morning’s School Board meeting.

In 2020, voters decided to raise the minimum wage in Florida to $15 an hour by 2026. During the most recent legislative session, lawmakers voted to move up the date to October 1, 2022, for public institutions.

Not wanting to wait until October, the School Board and BPS leadership are committed to making this happen before the deadline and making it retroactive to July 1st. This means employees will see the pay change on their August 31st paycheck.
