Jacksonville, FL – Bayside High School senior and dual-sport standout Nickiah Wilkinson soared to victory once again on Saturday, capturing his second consecutive Florida State High Jump Championship title in commanding fashion at the 2025 FHSAA State Track & Field Finals held at the University of North Florida.

Wilkinson, a University of Tennessee signee, cleared 2.14 meters (7 feet, 0¼ inches), outperforming the entire field and earning the maximum 10 team points. His leap was not only the best of the day but also a full 5 inches higher than his closest competitors—EJ Ellison of Mitchell High School and Elijah D’oleo of St. Thomas Aquinas, who both cleared 2.02 meters (6 feet, 7½ inches).

This rare back-to-back title places Wilkinson among Florida’s elite high school high jumpers and solidifies his legacy at Bayside.

“This is a special athlete,” said a coach at the meet. “To go 7 feet once is incredible. To do it again under the pressure of defending a title—he’s the real deal.”

But Wilkinson wasn’t the only Bayside representative on the state stage. Fellow athlete Aiden Ellebracht also qualified for the high jump competition, demonstrating the strength and depth of Bayside’s track program. While Ellebracht did not place, his qualification alone speaks volumes about the caliber of talent developing at the Brevard County school.

In total, 16 athletes from across the state cleared at least 1.87 meters (6 feet, 1½ inches), but none came close to Wilkinson’s towering height. His dominance was unmatched, and his performance puts a punctuation mark on a high school career filled with highlights on both the track and basketball court.

As Wilkinson prepares to take his talents to the SEC next year, Bayside High—and all of Brevard County—can take pride in knowing they witnessed one of Florida’s finest high school athletes make history, not once, but twice.
